(RTTNews) - The euro edged higher ahead of Friday's London session following comments made by the ECB President Mario Draghi that the euro recovery would come in the second half of 2013. The euro rose sharply to fresh 5-week highs of 1.3029 against the US dollar and 0.8117 against the pound around 2:10 am ET. The European shared currency also resumed early Asian session's rally against the yen around the same time, rising back above the 107.50 level for the first time since April 26. Against the franc, the common currency climbed to a 3-day high of 1.2049 around 2:35 am ET.
