Pound Rises Against Most Majors Ahead Of U.K. GDP Data

(RTTNews) - At 4:30 am ET Friday, U.K. Office for National Statistics is due to release its preliminary gross domestic product, or GDP. GDP is expected to grow 3 percent year-over-year in the third quarter after the 3.2 percent rise in the previous quarter. On a quarter-over-quarter basis, GDP is estimated to increase 0.7 percent following the 0.9 percent growth in the second quarter.

Ahead of the data, the Pound showed mixed trading against its major rivals. While, the Pound rose against the Euro, the Yen and the Swiss franc, it fell against the U.S. dollar.

As of 4:25 am ET, the Pound was trading at 0.7887 against the Euro, 1.5291 against the Swiss franc, 1.6033 against the U.S. dollar and 173.38 against the Yen.
