U.K. utility SSE PLC (SSE.LN) said Monday it sold SSE Pipelines Ltd, an independent gas transporter, to the Environmental Capital Fund, a new fund managed by Scottish Equity Partners, for an estimated 52.7 million pounds ($87.6 million).

The disposal of the unit, which provides gas connections to new residential and commercial developments across the U.K., is part of a program of asset and business sales announced earlier this year, SSE said.

Shares were little changed after the announcement, trading one pence higher at 1,519 pence.
