STUART, Fla., Dec. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Seacoast
Banking Corporation of Florida
(NASDAQ: SBCF) announced that Mark
Blanchette, vice president and director of Business
Technology and Data Management, is the 2016 recipient of Ventana
Research's Technology Leadership Award in Business
Intelligence.
The prestigious annual awards by the business technology
research and advisory services firm recognize business leaders who
employ technologies and apply best practices to create the best
possible outcomes in productivity, performance and support of an
organization's goals and objectives.
Blanchette was recognized for his leadership in executing
partnerships with Denodo, SAS and Tableau to set a standard of
excellence for how community banks use advanced digital technology
to improve customer satisfaction and overall business success. The
award reflects his work to build a so-called logical data
warehouse, or LDW, using the Denodo Data Virtualization platform.
An LDW is a new data-management architecture for analytics that
combines the strengths of traditional repository warehouses with
alternative data management and access strategy.
Its LDW enables Seacoast to integrate data easily across
cloud-based and on-premise information systems to deliver the
aggregated data as logical data marts for analytical and reporting
purposes. It has played a pivotal role in the bank's information
delivery strategy and provides a secure, scalable and timely
platform for operational reporting, dashboards and analytics.
"I congratulate Mark and the Seacoast team for their Leadership
Award work, which advanced their bank's processes by using data and
analytics efficiently for business intelligence," said Mark Smith, Ventura's CEO and chief research
officer. By maximizing the use of technology vendors such as
Denodo, to virtualize its data assets, Seacoast "was able to access
needed information and analytics," he noted.
At Seacoast, Blanchette has turned an ad-hoc reporting team into
a high-performance data-management team that has delivered over 15
process improvement projects and performed the integration work for
Seacoast's soon-to-be-launched consumer credit card.
"I am honored," said Blanchette about his selection. "The
quality work product and resulting business value could not have
been accomplished without the support of Seacoast's executive
management team and business unit leaders, as well as our
technology partners. I am excited for what the future holds at
Seacoast as we continue to embrace technology to transform our
business."
The 2016 Leadership Awards cover 28 business and technology
categories and are open for organizations across business and IT,
technology vendors and consulting firms. Analyst reviews case
studies and submissions are evaluated based on the stringent
guidelines set out by awards program criteria.
