HOUSTON, Aug. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Valerus (www.valerus.com), a world leader in integrated oil and gas handling equipment and services, announced today that it has successfully participated in the installation of a packaged plant to treat 45 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of natural gas containing 21 percent carbon dioxide for United Energy Pakistan (UEP) in Pakistan. The plant assists UEP in capitalizing on government incentives for oil and gas firms to boost natural gas production to overcome the energy crisis in Pakistan.

Valerus' project scope included engineering, sourcing, logistics and field commissioning and start-up services for two 400 GPM amine units and one 2MMBtu/hr triethylene glycol (TEG) unit with contactors, scrubbers and filters from the Port of Houston to the Port of Karachi, Pakistan. The majority of the equipment was skid-mounted for ease of transportation and installation in the field.

The contract agreement was finalized between Valerus and UEP in December 2013. Valerus deployed assistance in field commissioning and start-up in March 2014 and first gas was achieved on April 1, 2014.

"Completed in four months, this project is a testament to Valerus' ability to rapidly and effectively meet our clients' global needs and demands," said Steve Gill, CEO for Valerus. "We look forward to continuing to work with United Energy Pakistan."

"Working within an extremely challenging timeline, it was critical to select a partner with a global footprint that understood and could meet our immediate needs in the region," said Syed Manzoor Hussain, Head of Engineering Services at United Energy Pakistan. "Valerus is a trustworthy partner for the timely delivery of quality equipment and ongoing project support."

Valerus has worked in the Middle East since 2007, engineering, constructing, installing and commissioning compressor stations and production facilities.
