Grupo Salinas Hosts U.S. Delegation of Journalists, Business Leaders and Political Leaders to Attend Ciudad de las Ideas Thinkers' Forum in Puebla

MEXICO CITY, Nov. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Grupo Salinas, a group of dynamic, fast-growing and technologically advanced companies founded by Ricardo B. Salinas that are deeply committed to the modernization of the countries in which they operate, is pleased to have hosted a group of leading U.S. journalists, business leaders and political leaders who will attend the Ciudad de las Ideas thinkers' forum in the city of Puebla.

The delegates represent organizations as diverse as the New America Foundation, the Aspen Institute, Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute, Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute  and Zocalo Public Square.

The trip included high-level meetings with top members of the federal government elect, representatives of the U.S. Embassy and executives of Grupo Salinas companies, among others.

The distinguished visitors will also attended a three-day forum on global ideas called La Ciudad de las Ideas. The forum, which is now in its fifth year, features speakers such as Latino astronaut Jose Hernandez; cyborg activist Neil Haribisson;  Isaac Hernandez, soloist for the Dutch National Ballet in Amsterdam; and Nobel Peace Prize winner Shirin Ebad, among many others. The event includes a total of over 50 speakers, who presented a ground-breaking idea during a 20-minute intervention.
