Leveraging NQ Mobile's leadership in the detection of risks
including spyware, phishing and viruses, the service will ensure a
safe downloading channel for end users by identifying malicious
software before it can be circulated. The collaboration will bring
a pre-scanning service from NQ Mobile for all applications and
plug-ins prior to their inclusion in HTC's App Store. This will protect the growing number
of HTC subscribers from the ever-increasing risks of mobile viruses
and malware by preventing harmful downloads from being made
available in HTC's App Store in the
first place.
"Guaranteeing a safe mobile environment is a large undertaking,
and we are proud that HTC is joining NQ Mobile to stop malware
before it has a chance to harm consumers," commented Gavin Kim, Chief Product Officer, NQ Mobile. "We
look forward to helping HTC subscribers get the most out of their
mobile experience and enjoy the assurance of threat-free
downloads."
"With HTC's philosophy of pursuing excellence, the security
service experts of NQ Mobile were the natural choice of partner for
our efforts to curtail the spread of mobile malware," said
Ray Yam, corporate VP and head of
HTC Communication in China. "We
are happy that our customers will now have the confidence that ours
is a world-leading, secure mobile phone environment."
