TAOS SKI VALLEY, N.M.,
July 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/
-- Taos Ski Valley has named Jesse
Keaveny as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Keaveny will be
responsible for helping design and execute the strategic vision and
growth of the resort, including the opening of the new Kachina Peak
lift this winter season, as well as helping draw additional
attractions, events and visitors to Taos
Ski Valley throughout the year.
Keaveny brings a wealth of hospitality, entertainment and
tourism experience to the position. He has held a variety of
marketing and sales positions for Caesars Entertainment Corporation
in Reno and Lake Tahoe, Nevada supporting their Harrahs
and Harvey's branded casino and hotels. Most recently, he served as
Regional Vice President of Marketing for the Caesars Mid-South
Region. He has also held marketing positions at FedEX and the M'Lis
Company.
"Jesse's experience will be an essential asset as we embark on
our goal of enhancing the visitor experience at Taos Ski Valley," said Gordon Briner, CEO of Taos Ski Valley. "Among many other things, his
in-depth knowledge of travel and tourism combined with his
strategic marketing background will help us expand our brand
recognition, bring additional high-profile skiing and snowboarding
events to our world-class terrain, and create more summer and fall
opportunities for visitors. We are thrilled to have him with us
during this exciting time at Taos Ski
Valley."
One critical effort Keaveny will help promote is this winter's
opening of the new Kachina Peak lift, which is one of the highest
chairlifts in North America at
12,450 feet, and will increase Taos Ski
Valley's lift-serviced terrain by 50 percent. He will also
help market the introduction of the resort's new skier and rider
drop-off area that features views of the Sangre de Cristo
mountains, and a walkway with stores and services that line the
path to the base area and lifts. These improvements are the
first stages of the renovation of the base area, in which Keaveny
will have valuable strategic inputs. He will also lead some
of Taos Ski Valley's most-watched
skiing and riding events, such as the Salomon Extreme Freeride
Championships, the K2 Women's weekend and collaborate efforts with
Ski New Mexico such as Learn to Ski Week.
"Taos Ski Valley is embarking
on an exciting new era and I'm thrilled to be a part of it," said
Keaveny. "As a life-long skier, I've always admired the uniqueness
and authenticity of Taos. To now
be a part of the team of this legendary resort and have the
opportunity to serve in a capacity in which I can positively impact
its future, is a dream come true. I look forward to being a part of
the Taos community for a long
time."
Keaveny will be relocating from Memphis to Taos for the position.
