SALT LAKE CITY, April 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- It was a balmy morning in April when Action Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electric surprised a local Salt Lake family with the equipment and team to complete a much needed service — a complete air duct cleaning for their home.  Clean air in the Pearson's home will help to save a woman's life. Adrienne and her parents, Nancy and Rick Pearson, had just returned from the hospital after Adrienne received a heart and liver transplant.   Action Plumbing's HVAC team was hard at work cleaning the duct system in their home so that they would have clean air to breathe.

A large portion of the transplant recovery process requires Adrienne to have clean air at home. Already overwhelmed with having to transport their daughter home and plan for her recovery, making sure the ducts were clean was low on the to-do list. Carol Zierse, a neighbor of the Pearson's, called Action Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electric to see if they could help. "As soon as we heard about the family's situation, we knew we wanted to help," said Randy Leek, HVAC Manager at Action Plumbing.

While a duct cleaning service can be accomplished by most HVAC companies in Salt Lake City, the certified HVAC technicians at Action Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electric were excited to have the opportunity to help a family in need.

"My daughter had some blood work that needed to be done and my son told me that some people were here to clean the vents.  We pulled into the house and saw the Action truck in the driveway and they were working their tails off; it was much needed. We needed the help in the house. This has been so nice of them to do.  This is the nicest gift that I could have received. This will help her be able to heal better. She is on anti-immune drugs so she has to be careful of dirty places," said Nancy Pearson, mother to Adrienne.

A thorough duct cleaning should be administered every 12 months in homes with forced air.  Sometimes if ducts are neglected, there can be signs of mold growth inside hard surface ducts or components of your heating and cooling systems.  It is also common for ducts to be infested with vermin; or they are clogged with excessive amounts of dust and debris. In the case of the Pearson's, a detailed duct cleaning service may help save a life, and Action Plumbing came to the rescue.
