Pound Mixed Ahead Of U.K. Retail Sales Data

At 4.30 am ET Thursday, the Office for National Statistics is
slated to issue U.K. retail sales data. Economists forecast retail
sales to rise 0.4 percent month-on-month in April reversing a 0.5
percent fall in March.
Ahead of the data, the pound traded mixed against its major
rivals. While the pound advanced against the greenback and the yen,
it declined against the euro. Against the franc, the pound held
steady.
The pound was worth 1.5601 against the greenback, 1.4544 against
the franc, 0.7154 against the euro and 188.61 against the yen as of
4:25 am ET.
