Reversing direction, the U.S. dollar dropped against its major opponents in early New York trading on Thursday.

The greenback hit a 2-day low of 1.1214 against the euro and a weekly low of 0.9876 against the franc, off its early highs of 1.1149 and 0.9927, respectively.

The greenback reversed from its early high of 110.23 against the yen and eased back to 109.70. This may be compared to an early 2-day low of 109.42.

The greenback retreated to 1.4711 against the pound, from its early high of 1.4677. The currency is thus remaining within the vicinity of its early European session's more than 3-week low of 1.4739.

The greenback may locate support around 108.00 against the yen, 1.48 against the franc, 1.13 against the euro and 1.48 against the pound.
