Coolpad and Graphite Software originally partnered to introduce
Privacy Spaces to domestic mobile phone users in China to help protect their banking and mobile
payment activities. The Privacy Space delivers a separate virtual
phone on Coolpad devices that includes a dedicated app store for
the selection of banking, insurance and mobile payment apps
only.
"The introduction of the Coolpad Max to India, Southeast
Asia and Europe follows the
domestic success of the device with Chinese consumers," said Mr.
Zhongsheng Luo, Vice President of
Coolpad. "This premium smartphone delivers our 'Dual in One'
capabilities including the dual system for account and data
protection. It's like having two phones in one."
Coolpad's dual system keeps apps, accounts and data in one Space
separate from those in the other Space. The Android virtualization
platform enables multiple virtual devices to co-exist on a single
device.
"We are excited to see Coolpad's expansion into new markets",
said Alec Main, CEO of Graphite
Software. "Our partnership with Coolpad continues to grow and
expand into new use cases for our Secure Spaces virtualization
solution."
About Graphite Software's Secure Spaces
Secure Spaces is an Android virtualization platform that enables
multiple virtual devices or "Spaces" to co-exist on a single device
- such as a Personal Space, a Kids Space, a Work Space and a Secure
Banking Space. This addresses not only fundamental Android
security and privacy issues but it also enables Spaces to provide
different user experiences in terms of apps, wallpapers, launchers
and unique Space security settings, which leads to new forms of app
discovery and distribution. Like the material graphite, Secure
Spaces is strong and lightweight – there is no impact in device
performance compared to previous virtualization technologies.
Secure Spaces will be deployed to over 100M device by the end of
2016.
