SACRAMENTO, Calif.,
June 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/
-- Jeff Webster loves auditions. "Being in that room with all
that nervous energy – oh yeah! I love watching a director bring a
script to life. I love the nuances my fellow actors bring to their
characters. I love how lights, sound and set can create a world
that had previously existed only in a playwright's
imagination. And the applause! I love that too!"
So when Jeff and Sue, his wife of 46 years, relocated from their
home in Sacramento, California to
the high-desert community of Green
Valley, Arizona in 2013, among the things they brought with
them – along with the photos, furniture, knick knacks, and their
cat – was his love of acting.
Jeff has continued his shameless attempts at soliciting
applause. He's worked with the Santa Cruz Shoestring Players, and
the Quail Creek Performing Arts Guild, in plays such as "Lend Me A
Tenor," "Moon Over Buffalo," "The
Curious Savage," and "Run For Your Wife." He can also be seen in
Fox Television's Legends And Lies, portraying New Mexico Governor Lew Wallace.
Recently he starred in one of his favorite roles, "Arthur Valentine" in "Dinners With
Augie." He first played the lead role of "Arthur Valentine" when "Dinners With Augie"
premiered in 2011. "'Dinners with Augie' is a beautifully
written, intimate play. The role allowed me to express love, grief,
joy, fear, the longing for a connection – these are universal
feelings and the play appeals to a wide variety of theater-goers,"
says Webster. "When the playwright – Scott
Charles – told me he was doing the show again, I said 'YES!'
and went back to Sacramento for a
month. We had a great run! Audiences loved the play! It
was staged as a fund-raiser for three local charities, and we
raised thousands of dollars. You can hear the audience reaction in
the trailer, and see the heartfelt responses on Facebook. It was
great to do that play again." No doubt we'll be seeing more of Jeff
soon!
